Kabir Bedi, a hearthrob and icon of the 80s, who is known for his international appeal and his legendary portrayal of roles such as as Emperor Shah Jahan in Taj Mahal: An Eternal Love Story and the villainous Gobinda in the 1983 James Bond film Octopussy.
Sharmila Tagore, the two time National Film Award and Filmfare Award winning actress is an eminent actress, humanitarian and social worker. She was chosen as UNICEF Goodwill ambassador and is also a Padma Bushan awardee.
Helen, the siren of the 80s has had an illustrious career spanning over 700 films. She was immortalized by her dances in the song “Mera Naam Chin Chin Chu” in Howrah bridge and showed her acting prowess in films such as Gumnaam and Pagla Kahin Ka.
The evening will also feature a live concert by Chennai’s popular singer Surojit Guha along with Sinchan Dixit (Bangalore), Gaurav Bangia (Mumbai) and Madhura Datar (Pune) and musicians from Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai will perform live. India’s best and most lauded trumpeter Kishore Sodha from Mumbai will also be performing live in a treat for jazz and blues fans. It’s going to be an evening of engaging conversation, glamour and music.
The event is being organized for the victims of the Chennai floods. The rehabilitation process has been underway, the city has shown indubitable spirit and has rallied its resources to help the needy. The Rendezvous is a salute to all those involved in the relief efforts and will donate part of the proceeds to the proceeds to Loyola College Rain Relief and Rehabilitation Services.
