Arijit Singh will be coming to Mumbai for a concert that is set to create an ensemble of the elements of orchestra and bring it to mainstream music in India. It is looking at bringing the experience of the ‘concerto’ or the ‘orchestra’  to the Indian audiences. Orchestras like the New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony Orchestra and Royal Philharmonic have managed to hold generations of listeners in awe with the unique aural experience they take their audience through. These experiences were earlier a preserve of the elite, but Arijit Singh is truly shaking things up with his attempt to incorporate the ‘Symphony orchestra’ in a Bollywood concert.

Arijit Singhs performance in Mumbai will bring a 45 piece ensemble to India and listeners will get to revel in the musical spectacle of the entire event.  The ‘Symphony orchestra’ is a complex assortment of instruments that consist of four families: woodwinds, brass, percussion, and strings.

The woodwind instruments include Flutes, Oboes and Bassoons. The Brass ones include different types of Horns and Trumpets. The percussion includes a variety of drums called the Timpani and the strings include a range of Violins, Cellos, Violas and Double basses. There are also specialty instruments like the Harp, Grand piano and French horns, in addition to the assortment  that make the Symphony orchestra an experience to remember.

Arijit says about the upcoming concert in Mumbai: “It’s a blend of alternative music and symphonic music to make it less monotonous and still get a classic flavour.” The orchestra will accompany Arijit’s soulful voice and will be a perfect mix of Bollywood and Western classical.

Arijit will be performing some of his biggest hits Tum hi ho, Muskurane ki vajah and Sooraj Dooba Hai Yaaron along with some of his freshest numbers like Judai, Deewana tera, Humari Adhuri Kahani and Tum Saath Hoo.
