Anish Sood is definitely an artist to watch out for in India’s competitive techno and dance music scene. He is fresh off the success of his breezy new single ‘Superfly’ which took iTunes by storm peaking at #3. He has been prolific with his performances playing at close to 90 gigs in a year and he now making his way to Hyderabad. Anish Sood will be playing live at The Farm World Cafe, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad on November 27, 2015 for the Farm Music Festival, and we are stoked.
Sood exploded on to the dance music scene back in 2011 becoming a regular at nightclubs and festivals in Goa, where he was born and raised. He became popular for his stage presence and his way of working the crowd. His Goan roots and a jazz guitarist for a father meant that music was almost second nature to him. This also meant a deep understanding of the genre, and a style that could adapt from open air settings like beach parties to intimate settings like nightclubs and house parties.
He has shared the stage with legends like Laidback Luke, Felix da Housecat, Gareth emery and Fedde le Grande, holding his own with his distinctive original tracks and progressive mixes. He has performed at most of the major festivals in India including Sunburn, NH7 Weekender and Invasion.
Sood has carved out a name for himself in India’s electronic scene. His notable achievements include playing the opening set for the live stream of Tomorrowland India’s Mumbai event at NCSI stadium. He has also opened for top-notch international artists like David Guetta and Steve Aoki. He is also known to be very proactive on social media and hosts the popular Sunburn podcast that has become extremely popular amongst Indian EDM and techno lovers, and has featured guest mixes from international artists like Afrojack and Paul van Dyk.
Be there at the Farm World Cafe to see him play live and serve up some of the best of progressive house and techno. The Farm Music Festival is putting the ‘live’ back in music and Hyderabad sure is loving it.
