All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy and with all the stress that keeps the employees in the cloister of corporate offices buzzing, there sure seems to be a need to pull them out of the cabins. And to do this job in the most fun manner, the corporate Olympics is back with its fifth edition.
Organized by the Rose Petals, the Hyderabad Corporate Olympics (HCO-5) will be a series of multi-sport event featuring around 18 Sport disciplines, which include athletics, badminton, basketball (men), basketball 3-on-3 (women), carom, chess (individual), chess (team), lawn tennis, pool, billiards, snooker, soccer 6’s, swimming, table tennis, tennis-ball cricket for women, throw ball, tug-o-war, and volleyball (men and women).
The first edition of Corporate Olympics was hosted in 2011 and had over 57 companies participating in the event. This number doubled over the next few years and by 2014 the number of companies participating in the event grew to 116 companies by the fourth edition of the event that saw over 4,300 corporate executives participating.
This year as Corporate Olympics turns five, the number is expected to grow to over 5,000 participants from around 130 corporate companies competing against each other for the title.
The games will be conducted at the most iconic sporting venues across the city of Hyderabad. And to make sure that the participants do not miss out on the games due to work, the competitions will be hosted on weekends and public holidays.
With organizations trying hard to create a relaxed workspace, what better way to do it than to participate in a sporting activity. This will not just be a fitness booster, but also an amazing opportunity for fostering team spirit and team building.
