The National festival of music and dance in Hyderabad is here yet again. Suranjali Foundation, a non-profit foundation for the cause of promoting, propagating and nurturing Indian Music and Dance presents the annual Pt.Bhimsen Joshi National Festival of Music and Dance, which will be held from March 27 to 29, 2015, at Taramati Baradari near Golconda Fort in Hyderabad.
To celebrate the much-anticipated event, Suranjali Foundation in association with Bharat Ratna Late. Pt. Bhimsen Joshi Ji, has put together a programme of 16 performances from different genres of music which will be performed in the three-day festival by famous artistes such as Mom Ganguly (Classical Dancer), Pt. Anindo Chatterjee (Tabla), Pt. Kumar Bose (Tabla), Sameer Rao (Flute), Pt. Rajan & Sajan Mishra (Hindustani Vocal), Shounak Abhisheki (Indian vocalist), Anand Bhate (Hindustani classical vocalist), Guru Ratikant Mohapatra (Indian classical dancer -Odissi), Abhijit (Tabla), Abhijit (Sitar), Somanath (Percussionist), Gopal Burman (Composer and Singer), Praveen, and Raj Sekhar, Gokul Das.
Not just that. Among this year’s highlights, there will be numerous other great performances to be enjoyed, since the Suranjali Foundation provides a platform for many new and up-and-coming talents from across India to perform in the Pt.Bhimsen Joshi National Festival of Music and Dance 2015 in Hyderabad.
Bharat Ratna Pt.Bhimsen Joshi is a legend of music, who was known for his powerful voice, stunning breath control over his tones and matchless music sensibility. He is an Indian vocalist in the Hindustani classical tradition. Suranjali Foundation has initiated a Festival dedicated to Pt. Bhimsen Joshi and his Guru Pt. Sawai Gandharva in Hyderabad in 2012.
Sawai Gandharva-Bharat Ratna Pt.Bhimsen Joshi Music Festival, Hyderabad, was held in 2012 at Chowmahalla Palace from Feb 17-19, 2012, was a grand success in terms of impassioned participation of artistes, music lovers’ response, feedback from the entire music community of India and abroad, and also the media.
This was the event which had evolved into a programme of large magnitude in its first time in Hyderabad and also got institutionalized as an Annual National Festival of Music and Dance. The most popular artistes had performed over this three-day festival in 2012 such as Shri.Shrinivas Joshi (Hindustani Vocal ) son of Bharat Ratna Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, Pt. Kumar Bose (Tabla Solo), Pt.
