India Storms into Quarterfinals and tops the Pool B List:
While the Social media platforms have been abuzz with the #WontGiveItBack hashtags and innovative ad campaigns that reflect the mindset of the frenzied cricket fans across the Indian sub-continent, the Cricketers have decided not to leave their fans high and dry, this time around.
If the spectacular performance is one thing that has been keeping the fans excited, the fact that all the contending teams playing against Team India had to face an “All-Out” situation is something more than the fans could ever ask for.
And this time around India has not just been the first country to enter the quarterfinals post its victory against West Indies on March 6, 2015, this was followed by the biggest reason to rejoice that came along with the victory in the match against Ireland on March 10, 2015.
India went on to take their winning streak to the next level in World Cup matches to nine, which is incidentally their longest making team India, close on the heels of the great Australian run between 1999 and 2011. India has also been successful in maintaining their record of bowling oppositions out in this World Cup, claiming their 50th wicket in five matches in the 49th over of Ireland’s innings.
Victory in the Match 34 of the ICC World Cup 2015 proved to be a momentous one for Team India as it could reach the top rank in the scoreboard of Pool B. India is closely followed by South Africa, Pakistan, Ireland, West Indies, Zimbabwe and the United Arab Emirates.
Although Ireland won the toss and chose to bat first, the entire match was dominated by India as the team managed to achieve the 259-run total at the loss of just two wickets with 79 balls to spare against Ireland at the Seddon Park in Hamilton.
