Samanvay Rural Half Marathon- A Run for A Social Cause:
Samanvay Rural Half Marathon is a Run for a Social Cause, which seeks to raise charity and goodwill for the causes that the nation needs to focus the most on for overall development. A nation can march on the path of sustainable development only when the development and growth are not restricted to just a few sections of the society.
The Samanvay Rural Half Marathon is an initiative to foster this form of development to promote rural sportsmanship, gender equality and goodwill for Budaun. This charity event and goodwill initiative is by the iCFDR and would provide an impetus to the rural youth to choose sports as a profession to get out of misery.
The location of the marathon would be the interiors of Budaun district, which are now infamous for regular inhuman violence including sexual crimes and robberies. The event would seek to serve as a ground for encouraging participation in sports among the villagers, while also providing a platform to overcome the negative image the village has gathered recently.
Sports in India is a less preferred career choice unless it is cricket as there is little support that these personalities receive from the authorities to compete on an international level. The Samanvay Rural Half Marathon is an attempt to encourage participation in sports from rural areas.
The marathon would be organized in numerous categories to ensure that there is maximum participation and the categories for the same are as follows:
Samanvay Rural Half Marathon (Distance: 21.097 km. Minimum age eligibility: 18 years as on race day)
Budaun Goodwill Run (Distance: 10 km. Minimum age eligibility: 18 years as on race day)
