GHAC (Great Hyderabad Adventure Club) is organizing Hyderabad Triathlon 2014, one of the historic triathlon and duathlon events on the Hyderabad running calendar will again be held in the stunning GMC Balayogi Stadium in Gachibowli on October 12. From the past few years, this magnificent event created a running frenzy in Hyderabad successfully, making it their signature event.
This is the fifth year of Hyderabad Triathlon 2014, which is run through the GHAC, the leading not-for-profit organisation of trekking and adventure club in Hyderabad. It is an event to test your ability like stamina, strength and endurance pushing your limits to the higher extent. If you are considering taking part in Hyderabad Triathlon 2014 this year, make your challenge bit extra than last year.
The Triathloners and Duathloners will experience the early hours buzz of vibrant Hyderabad city that starts from 5:30 a.m and continues till 10 a.m. Watch the sunrise while racing for Hyderabad Triathlon 2014. Triathlon is a multi-sport race, which consists of a swimming activity followed by cycling course and ends in a run. Of course, you must have knew about it. With the support of Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad Triathlon 2014 is taking place in the massive Gachibowli stadium. It’s going to be a huge event in the history of Hyderabad Triathlon. In Triathlon, there would be three types of racing courses including Olympic, Sprint and Novice Levels.
Olympic Triathlon is an international format with the common triathlon raced distance; 1.5kms swimming, a 40 km cycling and a 10km run.
Sprint Triathlon is another standard international race but with different sequences such as 20kms cycling, 5kms running and 750 metres swimming.
Usually to race the Novice Triathlon, you will travel by cycle for 20km, run for 5km and swim for 750 metres.
Don’t worry if you don’t know how to swim, as Hyderabad Triathlon 2014 is also followed by the Duathlon race, which excludes the swimming activity and consists of only running and cycling. So, this event is also suitable for non-swimmers. Duathlon is a multi-discipline sport, it will take place in four racing courses including Power, Olympic, Sprint and Novice Levels.
The Power Duathlon is allowed, only for people who have at least successfully qualified one half marathon. This duathlon will surely give them a real spirit of sport as the standard distance to race the Power Duathlon is a 21.1km run, 90kms cycling and again a 5km run.
Olympic Duathlon covers a distance to run for 10km, cycle for 40 km and again run for 5km.
Sprint Duathlon is popularly known as run-cycle-run and is followed by 5km running, 20km cycling and 3 km running.
If you are the beginner of Duathlon then go for Novice Duathlon which is followed by 8 km of cycling and 2 km running.
Note: Cycles can be taken on rent, if you pay Rs.150 in advance.
